If you have good oral health generally but suffer with unsightly teeth, veneers are likely to be an ideal solution. They can be used to hide cracked, chipped or worn down teeth; gaps between teeth; misaligned teeth; short or misshapen teeth; and teeth that are anything less than pearly-white in colour.

Veneers have to be fused to your existing teeth, and this is achieved by first removing a layer of enamel equal to the thickness of the veneer. Once the veneer is bonded in place by the dentist, it can be hand-finished to achieve the perfect shape.

Placement of veneers should be a pain-free procedure, in which local anaesthetic is normally used – though this is not always necessary and depends on the nature of the treatment.

Unless you require extensive orthodontic work, the chances are that cosmetic adult braces will be suitable for you – and the good news is there is no upper age limit for receiving cosmetic orthodontic treatment.
